Over in North America the NFL draft is a very big deal, but it doesn’t get much publicity when it comes to American Football betting here in Europe. But thinking that the NFL draft does not have a large impact on the world of online NFL football betting is a big mistake. The reason why the draft’s importance isn’t discussed as much here in Europe is because online college football gambling isn’t as popular here as it is in North America. The reason why the NFL draft is tied to college football is because all of the potential draftees played college football last season.

Tebow and the Jets to introduce a new concept to pro football betting

Last week professional football betting had a ton of headlines, one of the main ones involved Tim Tebow being traded to the Jets. Tebow was a quarterback for the Denver Broncos season, and led them on an incredible run to the 2nd round of the playoffs. He did a great job as the starting QB for the Broncos, and while Mark Sanchez should be worried about losing his job to Tebow eventually, his starting QB job will be safe to at least start the season.  The reason for that is that the Head Coach of the Jets Rex Ryan has stated that Sanchez will be the starter, but that Tebow will run the “Wildcat” offense for the offense.

Tebowmania will be running wild in New York

Tebowmania will be running wild in New York

The Wildcat is an offensive scheme primarily seen in college football betting, not in NFL football betting. Pro American football betting has seen the Wildcat introduced over the past few seasons; however, it was run by Running Backs or Wide Receivers. Tebow at the helm will mark the 1st time where a QB runs the wildcat in American football online betting. Also different, will be the fact that Rex Ryan plans on using the wildcat 20-25 times a game, much more than we are accustomed to in the NFL or even in online college football gambling. Tebow has shown throughout his career how dangerous he could be as a runner, but what will make the Jets wildcat so dominant will be the threat of Tebow’s arm. The Jets were already going to be a team to watch in 2012, but with this new formation they will be even more exciting to watch.

The parity shown in pro football betting is not common in most European sports

Soccer in Europe is one of the most popular wagers at online sports betting websites, and for good reason, but if you like underdogs than it might not be the sport for you. The true underdog teams in Europe don’t stand a chance versus powerhouse squads like Arsenal, Manchester United or Chelsea, as since 1995  one of the three have been champions of their respective league each year. If you are looking for a little bit more parity then you might want to look at premier league football betting (NFL). As over the same span, over 1/3 of the league’s teams have won a championship! It seems as if every single year there is a new team at the top of NFL football betting. There is a reason for that, the first is the salary cap which doesn’t allow the teams that make more money to spend as much of it as they want on players. Soccer allows that, and it is the exact reason why the best players always go to the best teams. Whereas in football match betting, some of the best players are on the worst teams (ex: Adrian Peterson on the Vikings). The other reason for parity in the NFL is the draft. In soccer, teams can sign players at a very young age; in fact even 8 year olds have been offered contracts by some of the top squads. But in the NFL the only way a player can become a member of the NFL is through the draft, which gives the worst teams the first shot at the incoming players. For those reasons football gambling online is much more unpredictable than soccer. Think about it, the Green Bay Packers were a laughing-stock to the rest of the league just a few short years ago, now they are considered one of the surest things in football lines betting simply by building through the draft. So give it a shot next season and see if you enjoy professional football betting online as much as you do other sports. We are quite confident you will, as there is a reason NFL football betting line’s are the most popular lines at all of the best online sports betting sites.

The Online American football betting season in 2012 has come and gone!

The American football match betting season is over. For many of you this might have been the first year you have participated in football sports betting. If this was your first season using football betting services, then there is no doubt in our minds that you picked a good year to join! The Green Bay Packers lost a potential perfect season by losing to the Kansas City Chiefs. Numerous records were set in the Tight End category, as Rob Gronkowski literally rewrote the record books at his position in almost every single major statistical category. Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos took over football gambling online, as nobody was as popular as Tebow when it came to placing a bet on football games. That could be said for betting lines NFL or college football betting lines as well. While Tebow leading a last place team halfway through the year to a playoff spot was probably the storyline of the year in the NFL, there were many other stories that made the season what it was. We all knew it was going to be a crazy season when potentially the best player in football Peyton Manning was declared out for the season before it even started. He wasn’t the only superstar injured either, as a ton of star players at nearly every single position were injured, and had huge effects on their teams. But for all the bad, there was a ton of good as well on the year, including the Giants improbable SuperBowl run. So if you liked what you saw this season, then make sure you come back next year, and continue to enjoy the joys of betting on NFL football!

Online American football betting is about to change!

If you were new to premier league football betting this year then you are about to see a big change from what you are used to when it comes to placing a bet on American football. Each of the 17 weeks during the regular season gave you 10+ football games to bet on each and every Sunday, this week because we have now entered the playoffs, there will only be 4 NFL point spread’s to pick from. This means that bettors won’t have the liberty to scan through all of the games to find a few football betting picks that they like, instead bettors will have to look for matchups within each game that they would like to take advantage of. But the fact that there will be less games each week won’t be the only change you notice with American Football betting. The fact that each game is a must-win now for the rest of the way for each team, means that every game will consist of each teams best performance. Teams know how much there is on the line in the playoffs, and you should remember that when placing a bet on American football.

Betting large favorites is probably not a very good idea in the playoffs, as many of the games will come down to the wire, and teams won’t care about style points anymore, all that matters in the playoffs is winning. So if you are betting favorites in the playoffs, you might want to think about betting the moneyline instead of the spread; that is definitely one of the NFL football betting strategies you should think about using for the rest of the playoffs! But one thing is for sure, playoff football is never boring, so enjoy the games and pick wisely!

American football betting adds a twist this week!

To those of you who are new to American football online betting, you might be wondering why there are 3 pro football betting line’s throughout the day Thursday. The reason for that is simple, Thursday marks an American holiday called Thanksgiving where Americans take the day to be thankful for what they have. Just because you aren’t American, however, doesn’t mean that you cannot also be thankful. Thursday we should all be thankful for the gift of the NFL, and the excitement it will add to an otherwise non-eventful week in sports. Thanksgiving NFL football is a tradition that will be around for a long time, if you haven’t watched it before this season, then you will definitely see a difference this week. The players who participate in these games, know how important the games are to not only the NFL, but also the country itself. That means that these games are the perfect ones to bet on American football. A secret to betting on football is to bet on games that you know matter to both teams, so that you will get 100% effort from both, and these games provide just that for football betting on line. American football online betting advice: Do not underestimate special teams!

If there is anything that this weekend should have shown you about American football betting, it’s how important special teams could be! A team might dominate offensively and defensively, but if they lose the special teams battle, a loss is a definite possibility. The reason why special teams are so important in American football bets is because of the potential for big plays on them. A blocked kick, or a kick return TD literally could completely shift the field and result in a TD in 1 quick play, instead of forcing a team to drive the field with multiple successful plays in a row. Special teams have the ability to completely change the momentum of a game in a matter of seconds, and that is why they are so important to consider when it comes to examining a pro football betting line.

Just look at last week’s Cardinals and Rams game. The Rams outgained the Cardinals by over 100 yards, and had a 12 minute advantage in time of possession. In fact, the Rams had a chance to win the game with no time left on the clock, as they lined up for a field goal with time expiring. But Arizona’s special teams stepped up with a huge blocked kick to push the game to overtime. Then in OT, Patrick Peterson returned a punt 99 yards for a touchdown. So despite dominating statistically, the Rams lost the special teams battle and because of that they lost the game. Games like this show that all of the many successful NFL football betting strategies must take always take special teams into account!

The same applies to college football betting aswell, as Alabama’s 4 missed FG’s are clearly the reason they lost to LSU this weekend in the biggest game of the year. So whether it’s college or premier league football betting, make sure to consider all 3 aspects of the game, not just offense and defense!

American Football online betting update: The “Dream Team” has arrived!

If you are new to American football betting then before last week’s game you may have thought that the Philadelphia Eagles, who were 2-4 at the time, weren’t a very good team. But during the offseason you couldn’t go anywhere in North America without hearing about the Eagles as SuperBowl favorites, due to all of the offseason acquisitions. The Eagles were the up and coming team to watch in premier league football betting, but after a slow start to the year, many fans have given up on them. Sunday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, completely changed that, as the Eagles flashed the brilliance we all expected when the “Dream Team” was put together this summer.

Michael Vick was almost unstoppable as he completely picked apart the Dallas secondary, completing 21 out of 27 of his passes, 2 TDs and no interceptions! He also ran for 50 yards, giving him 329 total yards of offense. But he wasn’t the only Eagle who dominated, as LeSean McCoy rushed for 185 yards against the NFL’s #1 rush defense, while leading the Eagles to a 34-7 win over the Cowboys. If that doesn’t prove that the Eagles are a different team coming off of the bye week, then I don’t know what will. So if you plan on continuing to place any American football bets in the coming weeks, be careful betting against the Eagles. Because I guarantee you that soon you will begin to see a change in the pro football betting line ’s on the Eagles, as Sportsbooks definitely took notice of the performance by the Eagles last week. Just remember, for the rest of the year whenever you take part in football match betting, be careful betting against the Eagles, because the way they played last week showed that they have something to prove!

American Football betting entertaining in more ways than one!

If you have given a chance to the NFL and taken part in American football online betting in the past few weeks, then you have seen that not only does the league provide entertainment on the field during the game, but it also provides plenty of entertainment after the game and even off of the field, and after the games, just look at the last 2 weeks. The Detroit Lions have been talked about in the media more than any other team in the league the past 2 weeks, yet neither of them were for the performance on the field in those games. Let’s take a look at what has had the Lions in the next the past 2 weeks.

1)      After the 49ers/Lions game the 2 coaches (Harbaugh and Schwartz) went to shake hands in the middle of the field, as is customary after a game. However, Harbaugh seemed to be a little too happy with his victory as he was very aggressive with his handshake, and slapped Schwartz on the back which somewhat knocked him off balance. This doesn’t sound all too eventful, however, after this Schwartz chased down Harbaugh and attempted to get in his face which set off back & forth verbal jabs. These aren’t even the players we are talking about trying to fight, these are the coaches! Surely if you had lost a bet on American football in that game, that would have helped cheer you up.

2)      Then last week the Lions created even more controversy, by comments apparently said by all-pro DT N. Suh. The Falcons accused him of taunting ATL QB Matt Ryan while he was down and hurt. Allegedly, Suh was screaming to “bring out the kart and get him the *bleep* off the field”.. Falcons players took exception to this, and due to that there has been a ton of back and forth amongst players throughout the media since. Falcons WR Roddy White and Suh have traded verbal jabs all week, and when you hear the way the players talk about the incident or the other team, it is clear that if these 2 teams play again in the playoffs there will be no shortage of hatred for each other.

This is the beauty of Premier league football betting, not only are the games exciting to watch, but the action off the field could provide you with just as much entertainment, as there is never a dull moment in the NFL. Not only have the Lions been in the news for these non-football related stories, but in the meanwhile both games they played in went down to the wire and were incredibly entertaining as well. So essentially Professional Football Betting Online combines multiple types of entertainment into one. Every sport has personalities, but the NFL has some of the most outgoing, vibrant and downright entertaining (sometimes good and sometimes bad) personalities out there. While placing American football bets, you will obviously be paying attention during the week, and the NFL makes sure that it is entertaining every step of the way.

American Football Betting Advice: NFL 2011

If you are new to American football online betting then it is very important to be careful when judging who to bet on just by looking at the standings. The standings are obviously a great barometer to judge which teams will make the playoffs, but aren’t necessarily a good way to pick who to bet on when it comes to the NFL point spread. Let’s take a look at 3 teams that aren’t high in the standings as an example.

Kansas City: Kansas City started off the year 0-3, but since then the Chiefs have won 3 in a row. Since being outscored 89-10 in the 1st 2 games of the year, the Chiefs have outscored opponents 95-61. They have been a very popular team to bet against, however, they have covered the spread 4 straight weeks, and even won 3 games straight up as an underdog. You might want to be careful when placing American football bets against KC.

Carolina: Carolina is now 2-5 on the season, but have been close in almost every game. The Panthers have lost by more than one score only once, despite having an incredibly tough schedule and already having played WAS, NO, ATL, CHI and GB. But despite those tough matchups the Panthers and Newton have still been a great bet every week as they are now 5-1-1 vs the spread!

Minnesota: Minnesota is 1-6  on the season, and one of the lowest ranked teams in the NFL, however, they have still managed to be 5-2 vs the spread. When you consider the fact that they have played SD, DET, CHI and GB, it shows that the Vikings are much more talented than the 1-6 record shows.

Those teams are perfect examples of why professional football betting takes a lot more than just glancing at the standings. The standings could definitely help, but it is very important to know how teams perform against the spread. In fact, with pro football betting a team’s record against the spread is more important than it’s wins/losses. So next time you go to use your online football betting services keep in mind that there is more to a team than just it’s wins and losses!
